UX Design

I received formal training in UX (User Experience) Design at UCLA Extension as a part of my web development training.

UX Design is a process of whereby a website designer interviews his or her client, gathers information, company logos or whatever is available, does market research, puts together a quick wireframe or prototype of the site, gets together with the client again to review the prototype, makes adjustments, then does user testing with willing or hired participants and adjusts the controls, buttons and layout of the prototype until the user testing verifies that the average website visitor will be able to intuitively get around on the site and be directed to the important and key features or selling points of the website.

What I find most useful about UX Design is the strong focus given to the user's experience of a website or an app. Building an attractive website is good start, but assuring that the website is user-friendly is truly the ideal.
